Chalkboard Ignites the Christmas Spirit with “Paskong Pilipino 2021 sa West Covina”

Giving the light of love to those who need it most is indeed the very reason why we come together to celebrate Christmas. It is uplifting to put a smile on each other’s faces as everyone is reminded of how Christmas can bring us together. And there’s no better way to celebrate the season than to do it the Filipino way!

The annual Filipino Christmas celebration Paskong Pilipino 2021, is one of the biggest holiday events in West Covina, California. It was a whole day of festivity held last December 6, 2021 at West Covina Sportsplex from ten o’clock in the morning until five o’clock in the afternoon. The organizers behind the successful event were SMKN (Sama Ka Na), Caravan and Events, EATscetera and One FilAm.

Opening remarks were provided by West Covina Mayor, Dario Castellanos, followed by a quick introduction from the City’s Councilman Tony Wu, and Councilwoman Letty Lopez Viado.

In this year’s celebration, Chalkboard is fortunate to be a part of the highly regarded occasion as we are one of the minor sponsors for Paskong Pilipino 2021. There were more than 80 food and service vendors during the event. There was also a lantern parade as well as Christmas carolers celebrating the culture of local people with roots in the Philippines.

To further recognize and participate in the season of giving, Chalkboard put up a booth for all the guests to enjoy! It is all thanks to the collaborative effort of Joan Gonzalez, Michelle and Emm Punzalan, and Sava Khoshnaw, who wholeheartedly organized the Chalkboard booth.

They filled the booth with Chalkboard merchandise and also provided pens, tote bags, and sling backpacks as giveaways so that guests do not only get and feel the Chalkboard experience, but they also get to bring home some treats too! The team also gave 25 gift bags to the kids who performed for the celebration – the Rising Star and CKD Karate Kids. This, of course, was in collaboration with the City of West Covina.

Parents and their children had a great time visiting the Chalkboard booth as they are made aware of the helpful educational services that we can provide. They were more than happy to know more about the different subjects and programs we offer alongside the outstanding tutors that Chalkboard has been known for.

The event was enjoyed and gave entertainment to each and everyone. It was filled with a good number of song and dance performances of all ages! The kids, teens, and even parents were able to share their talents in the celebration. It is inspiring to see that everybody is giving their best efforts so that Paskong Pilipino can be truly successful and can impart the joy of the holiday! For the grand finale, two of the most popular music artists of the Philippines, Robbie Nievera and Keana V, were invited to give breathtaking performances. It is safe to say that the event ended on a high note…literally!
