Change of Schedule, Cancellation, and Refund Policy

Your payment for sessions made through the Chalkboard website shall be regulated by this Change of Schedule, Cancellation, and Refund Policy.

PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING A PAYMENT AS IT DETERMINES YOUR RIGHTS WITH REGARD TO YOUR PURCHASES, INCLUDING ESSENTIAL RESTRICTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS.

It is important to us that everyone has a positive experience learning with Chalkboard. We strive to ensure clear understanding of financial relations between parents, learners and tutors with respect to the services we provide.

Change Schedule Requests

Parents and learners will sometimes request to move the schedule of their sessions. The following policies apply to these situations below.

  1. Rescheduling a session is allowed only if the Change of Schedule Request was made at least 24 hours before the session is due to start. 
  2. Parents and learners can request to reschedule the session if the tutor fails to join the online session within 15 minutes. It is also the parent’s or learner’s discretion whether to continue the session with the remaining time in case the tutor becomes available or to move the session to another schedule with the same tutor or with a replacement tutor. 
  3. A session cannot be rescheduled once it has already started except when the tutor is late, or the tutor has missed the session.
  4. A session can only be rescheduled once.
  5. Rescheduling a session is not always guaranteed and will depend on the availability of tutors.

Cancellation of Sessions

All booked sessions are non-cancellable and non-refundable. 

Change of Tutor  Requests

We know that each learner has unique needs, and tutors have many degrees of teaching styles and personalities. For situations where you have to change your tutor, the following conditions apply:

  1. One-time change of Tutor can be requested if you think your chosen tutor is not fit for you or for your child’s needs. 
  2. The Change of Tutor request shall be made at least 24 hours before the session is due to start.
  3. For Change of Tutor requests, please contact our Customer Service via email (support@chalkboard.com.ph), Facebook Messenger, SMS or WhatsApp (+63 908 810 7090).
  4. Change of Tutor request is not always guaranteed and will depend on the availability of Tutors with same or lower rate. 
Refunds

All requests for refund are subject for review and approval by the management of Chalkboard. We may issue it upon your request based on the following conditions.

A. Policy on Refunds

  1. Parents and learners can request for full refund if the tutor cancels a session in advance and they choose not to replace the tutor nor agree with the proposed new schedule with a different tutor.
  2. In the event that the tutor misses a session, parents and learners may request a full refund, or move the session to another schedule.
  3. Missed sessions due to any systems failure of the platform can be subject for refund.

B. Additional Refund Policies

  1. No refund will be issued if learner fails to join the online class during the scheduled session.
  2. Complaints made by a Parent or Learner about the Tutor, including, but not limited to, a missed session or a claim that the quality of service received falls below the standards the Parent or Learner reasonably expected can be subject for a refund in accordance with the conditions stated in the Terms and Conditions regarding Complaints.
  3. Refunds can only be issued to the original form of payment used to pay the sessions on Chalkboard, and they cannot be issued to a different card or accounts. In the case that the original card is closed or no longer active for any reason and you may not be able to retrieve your refund, we will offer you a voucher instead. Our team will provide you with specific guidance in these cases.
  4. All refund requests must be received within 30 days after the sessions are paid.
  5. All refunds may take up to 14 business days or more depending on Chalkboard’s payment processor’s processing time.
  6. All refunds are exclusive of other fees such as third-party payment processing fee.
  7. In the rare case a parent or learner requests an excessive number of refunds, they may be disqualified from receiving future refunds.
  8. For any other situation, parents and learners are encouraged to directly contact Chalkboard via email (support@chalkboard.com.ph), Facebook Messenger, SMS or WhatsApp (+63 908 810 7090).

C. Refund Procedure

You are required to send your refund request through our Customer Service. Please contact us via email (support@chalkboard.com.ph), Facebook Messenger, SMS or WhatsApp (+63 908 810 7090) and provide us with the following info:

  • Date and time of your class
  • Name of the tutor
  • Reasons for your refund (not satisfied with the tutor, personal reasons etc.)
