About the Team
Kristine Brown
Co-Founder and CEO
Kristine Brown is the founder and CEO of Chalkboard, an organization that has solidified its presence primarily in the Philippines while establishing partnerships with over 20 countries since its inception in 2020. Under her impact-driven leadership, Chalkboard has forged strategic alliances with the Philippine Department of Education and major cities, earning multiple awards and prestigious international affiliations, including membership in the Europe EdTech Alliance.
Kristine holds a Master’s degree from London Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Santo Tomas. Prior to founding Chalkboard, she was a respected accounting policy expert for leading US financial institutions and actively contributed to policy-making initiatives with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), which influence the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In these roles, she was instrumental in developing the fast-growing digital asset businesses and implementing financial strategies.
A distinguished board topnotcher in the Philippine CPA examination and a certified US CPA, Kristine’s exceptional expertise and commitment to educational excellence have positioned Chalkboard as a key player in the Philippine EdTech landscape and beyond.
Albert Tablan
Co-Founder and COO
Albert Tablan is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Chalkboard, bringing over 15 years of expertise in automation systems software and plant asset management. A top-ranking graduate from Mapua University, Albert earned his degree in Chemical Engineering. His academic excellence continued as he became a topnotcher in his licensure examination, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence.
At Chalkboard, Albert leverages his extensive experience to optimize operational efficiencies and drive technological innovations that enhance our educational platforms. His leadership ensures that Chalkboard remains at the forefront of educational technology, providing scalable and sustainable solutions tailored to the unique needs of Filipino learners.
Albert has been honored as one of the Top 50 Rising Tigers by the Asia Leaders Awards and is a distinguished fellow of the Transcend Network. These accolades reflect his outstanding contributions to the industry and his dedication to fostering growth and excellence within his teams.
